Reiki For The Dying Person

The pandemic brought a huge shift in the awareness of death and dying although there is still very much an enormous fear to speak about the "D" word perhaps due to lack of understanding. Talking about dying does not make it occur or happen any faster.

​

Our medical services and professionals are stretched to the limit so it may not always be possible for them to give patients the extra care and support that they need when they are facing the end of their life.  A soul midwife can support to fill this space.

End of life can feel like a wave and a soul midwife provides spiritual and holistic support for the dying person (our friend). We are a spiritual companion who guides them through to a dignified and peaceful death. We are non-denominational, non-medical and non-judgmental and we honour the dying person's beliefs.

​

A soul midwife works to remove the fear of isolation. We are companions from the pre-active stages of dying through to death and beyond and can keep our friend company when they may feel frightened and alone.

Just being present is the greatest gift.​​

Letting go is a large part of the transition and we gently and skilfully hold the space as we follow the inspiring stages in the process of dying at a soul level as our 'friend' transitions back home through their spiritual birth.​​​

 

We do not fix or rescue but offer support though tender loving care. The pace is determined by 'our friend' and we meet them where they are at. We each bring our own skills to assist with the final journey and some of us, like myself, are experienced holistic therapists who can provide gentle reiki so that our friend feels loved and comforted.

The therapy of reiki is non obtrusive and can help to bring a state of calm and peace.
